Support for Underprivileged Families

Due to rising costs and flat wages, there are times when parents are not able to provide for many of the basic needs of their children. In extreme cases, this forces some families to place their children in government institutions. In other cases, families keep their children, but forgo nutritious food, medicine, heat and education.
To reduce the frequency of this occurrence, Star of Hope’s staff visits lower-income families to offer counsel and assist with basic supplies and finances. This practical support encourages families, allows them to live a healthier life and help them to stay together. However, of even greater value than the financial help is the advice, care and friendship we provide, through which we affirm their dignity and acknowledge their intrinsic worth.
