Prison Ministry

Our work in prisons is aimed towards preparation for successful re-integration into society of soon-to-be-released prisoners. Star of Hope furnished the New Beginning Centre in Bobov Dol prison. In this Centre, prisoners learn life skills and social skills, and are prepared for life out of prison. New literature in this prison’s library has been provided through our donation.

Our Foundation funds professional training courses in prisons /Sofia, Bobov Dol, Pazardzhik/ in computer literacy, cooking, baking, carpentry, welding, etc – all with qualified teachers.

Star of Hope supports the prison administrations in organizing and holding Christmas celebrations for children of prisoners and family re-unions of prisoners’ families. Also, we help meet basic needs of prisoners upon their immediate release.

From 2008 to 2010 in Pazardzhik prison we did professional training on Maintenance of Central Heating, computer course and literacy course. The purpose of this training is to provide professional qualification of the prisoners and to help them find a job after their release.

Thank You Letter to Star of Hope Foundation

“We thank you that through your empathy towards the needs of our prison, your donations for professional trainings will help the prisoners for their successful resocialization and integration in the society. These courses provide the key competences and professional skills which will help the prisoners take all the benefits of their stay in the institution.”
